Description This is a cooperative agreement. To organize, conduct, and document results from an international workshop on Pipelines Safety Assessment and Risk Management Methods. The workshop will bring together pipeline operators, contractors, inspectors, engineers, managers, analysts, researchers, and regulatory agency personnel from around the world to define discuss, and identify the strengths and weaknesses of the various methods and approaches that have been and are being developed for pipeline safety assessment and risk management. The workshop will identify and describe important research and development efforts that are needed to improve the safety, inspection, and maintenance of offshore pipelines.
Progress The workshop was held on November 5-6, 1998 at Amoco's offices south of Houston, Texas. Approximately 60 people from the industry participated in the event. A workshop Proceedings was published and distributed to the participants and other interested parties in January 1999.
