| Description |
This was a Joint
Industry Project (JIP). The objectives are (1) a comprehensive design and application
manual for present day strengthening/repair techniques for diver- assisted operations, and
(2) a series of detailed feasibility and evaluation studies for the application of
strengthening/repair measures to deepwater locations using ROV's. A detailed appraisal of
all intervention techniques was included. This information was used to define a number of
different techniques available to ensure the safety of a strengthening or repair system,
and will allow MMS to assess submitted for technical sufficiency, structural integrity,
and safety. This study produced an assessment and design manual on strengthening or repair
techniques for shallow and deepwater platforms. These schemes were evaluated as to their
applicability to deepwater platforms. |
