| Description |
This was a Joint Industry Project
(JIP). Designs for Tension Leg Platform (TLP)Tendon elements were analyzed by a fracture
mechanics approach making use of the critical flaw concept. Inspection methods for
detection of structural flaws in the TLP tendons were identified. Ultrasonic detection
(UT) will be examined in connection with general tendon design methods, and a model
relating the UT inspection performance to the design method and period of inspection will
be proposed. |
