| Principal Investigator |
Mr. Paul Hommert |
| Contracting Agency |
Department of Energy |
| Estimated Completion |
Completed |
| Description |
To study designs of tension-leg
platforms (TLP); to understand how platform foundations interact with the soil to
influence the stability and reliability of the platform; to identify research topics and
to initiate work on topics identified as being critical. |
| Progress |
Completed. The final reports were
received. This work concerned laboratory and large scale field tests of driven pile under
cyclic tension loads. The project scope was extended to include drilled and grouted piles
under cyclic tension loads. The initial phase of the project consisted of an assessment of
the current state-of-the-practice for drilled and grouted piles. |
