| Mission: |
The Office of the Regional Director (ORD) provides policy direction and management oversight for the performance of all necessary activities relating to the management of the lands and resources of the OCS in the Pacific Region within the framework of applicable laws, regulations, delegations, directives, and other guidelines or limitations.

| Functions: |
- Provides overall program and policy direction for the Region.
- Coordinates activities with State and local governments, the public, industry, inter-agency groups, and associated offices within the DOI and other Federal agencies.
- Assists the Office of Public Affairs in support of regional mission and specific offshore energy (including alternative energy) and non-energy minerals program activities. Provides expertise and substantive support for external affairs and communications efforts conducted in concert with Public Affairs Officer for the Pacific Region, including external and internal communications, exhibit programs, newsletters, and regional publications.
- Identifies, plans, designs, guides, evaluates and coordinates the external affairs programs (including educational initiatives, internet home page, volunteer programs), and special projects to achieve long-term goals and objectives.
- Coordinates the internal affairs programs to include intranet, customer service and productivity initiatives.
- Oversees web page development and support for the Region.
- Oversees and coordinates the Region’s Human Capital programs, including EEO and diversity. Coordinates and implements the Regional Training Program and the Regional Awards Program.
- Formulates and executes the Regional Budget and manages the allocation and distribution of personnel funding (salaries/benefits.)
- Provides control, storage, and retrieval of technical proprietary information and mission-critical files. Provides service and assistance to the public for access to non-proprietary records. Coordinates the Freedom of Information Act, Public Information, and Records Management functions for the Region.
- Oversees all information technology activities through the Information Technology Section. Participates on IT Governance boards and other IT committees.
- The AEP will continue to take form over a number of years, and that form will be informed by practices that will evolve as projects are proposed and leasing and grant approvals are managed. The REP coordinator is responsible for tracking the progress of the program and ensuring that the Region contributes to this evolution by ensuring that information and lessons learned are broadly shared.
- The Coordinator is the lead point of contact for renewable energy issues in the Pacific Region and the initial point of contact for potential projects. The Coordinator will work closely with the HQ OAEP and Coordinators in the other Regions on a regular basis to facilitate the sharing of information and experience and to resolve broad AEP issues. The Coordinator will work with the Pacific Region program managers and project staff to ensure that projects are fully informed of AEP-related decisions and that Pacific Region experiences are effectively shared throughout the AEP. To this end, the Coordinator will initially participate on each internal team formed to process a proposed project. The project responsibilities continue to reside in the specific program offices in the Region, and these programs will work with their counterparts in the bureau to address specific issues, keeping the AEP Coordinator advised and involved.
- The Coordinator will work with external stakeholders to share information about the AEP and to engage these stakeholders in addressing their renewable energy program/project needs, bringing Pacific Region program managers (or staff, as delegated) into the discussions as appropriate.
- The Renewable Energy Program (REP) Coordinator is responsible for robust internal and external coordination of the REP for the Pacific Region. The goal of this coordination is to ensure, for the Region and program overall, continuity and, where appropriate, consistency. In addition, outreach and coordination with external stakeholders on a broad program level responsibility of the Coordinator.

| Mission: |
The Information Technology Section (ITS) manages all information technology (IT) requirements, from providing network system support to providing advice to management on IT hardware and software life cycles.

| Functions: |
- Manages all IT hardware and software resources and the lifecycle issues. Responsible for IT property and recommends the development, redesign or purchase of IT resources. Participates in major intra-agency IT projects.
- Provides IT-related technical advice, assistance and services. Oversees IT security, including role-based security training. Develops and maintains IT-related sections of COOP (Continuity of Operations Plan).
- CProvides system administration, analysis and performance management for Windows and UNIX network servers under local administration, and on Windows-based PC’s and UNIX workstations. Serves as primary point-of-contact/liaison for IT inside and outside the Region. Participates in providing software application training to employees or directing employees to outside vendors.
- Maintains the data wiring and data wiring database.
- Provides support to TIMS (Technical Information Management System) users. Acts as liaison with TIMS/Oracle developers in the Gulf of Mexico Region.
- Administers the security-related responsibilities defined in Departmental Manual, Part 375. Chapter 19.
- Manages IT contracts for server room Uninterruptible Power Supply and Iron Mountain secure tape storage.
