The Pacific Region

The Secretary of the Interior has been designated by law to manage and regulate leasing, exploration, development, and production of mineral resources and oversee renewable energy projects on the OCS. All proposed Federal actions, oil and gas operations, and renewable energy projects are subject to stringent oversight by numerous applicable Federal laws, regulations, and coordination mandates.
