The Environmental Component of the BOEM Corporate
Database
The BEA provides policy guidance and oversees incorporation of
computerized environmental databases into the BOEM corporate database. This includes the
use of geographic information systems and other tools that will give BOEM a level of
competence in technical information management similar to other Federal agencies, and it
will allow BOEM to efficiently acquire and use much of the available environmental data
relevant to our OCS analyses and decisions.
