Continuation of Arctic Nearshore Impact Monitoring In Development Area (cANIMIDA)

The study “Continuation of Arctic Nearshore Impact Monitoring In Development Area” (cANIMIDA) is continuing the monitoring (initiated in 1999 as ANIMIDA) of impacts associated with production of oil from the Northstar Unit and any other development activities that may take place in the nearshore portion of the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) in the Beaufort Sea. The cANIMIDA will 1) provide a basis of continuity and consistency in evaluation of potential impacts and 2) have the flexibility to incorporate new monitoring issues for any upcoming development and production in this study area. Indicator matrices for each of the technical tasks being conducted through cANIMIDA have been developed to link key monitoring parameters to BOEMRE decision making. A Study Profile and the indicator matrices developed for each of the ongoing technical tasks are provided below.
