Compliance Annual Results
The Pacific OCS Region tracks environmental
compliance rates for on-going operations and environmental mitigation
compliance rates for individual mitigations placed on various oil and gas
projects and activities.

On-going Operations
Environmental compliance rates for on-going operations
on the Pacific OCS Region’s 23 oil & gas facilities are tracked through a
cooperative inspection approach between District Inspectors and Pacific
Region scientists. Data from office and field inspections provide
information on compliance rates and violation levels of individual OCS
facilities.

Mitigation Compliance
& Effectiveness Rates
Compliance and effectiveness rates for environmental
mitigations placed on Pacific Region projects are tracked on an annual
basis. Information is collected by OCS oil and gas activity type regarding
the project mitigations, mitigations inspected, and the rates of
compliance and effectiveness. Results for FY 2004 yielded a 100%
compliance rate for those mitigations inspected and a 96% effectiveness
rate for those environmental mitigations designed to protect coastal and
marine resources. In FY 2005, there were no new projects requiring
mitigation, so there are no compliance and effectiveness rates for that
year.
