Citation: Moe Plaisance

The Department of the Interior's Minerals Management Service presents its 1998 Corporate Leadership Award to Moe Plaisance for his leadership capabilities.  This award recognizes his commitment and contributions which enhanced MMS's ability to meet its mission objectives.

Through Mr. Plaisance's leadership as chairman on the International Association of Drilling Contractors/Offshore Operators Committee Deepwater Well Control Guidelines Task Force, the Task Force developed and published a comprehensive set of guidelines for deepwater well control.  These guidelines will help industry prepare fore the challenges of drilling safely in deepwater for years to come.

These efforts reflect the unselfish and professional effort by Mr. Plaisance in promoting safety and corporate responsibility consistent with the intent and spirit of the Corporate Leadership Award.
