Photo of the Sydney Opera House.On September 18th, 1998, the Minerals Management Service and the Australian Department of Primary Industries renewed a Memorandum of Understanding (193 KB PDF) to exchange scientific and technical information related to offshore oil, gas, and mineral activity. Cooperation will include exchange of information on resource assessment, administrative procedures and practices, leasing, development, environmental protection, economic analysis, risk perception, safety of personnel and offshore installations and pipelines, and public education.

Other Activities

Participates with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement, Canada, Norway and the United Kingdom in annual meetings of the International Regulators Forum.
